Your Aran Island Day Retreat
Your Island escape begins with a warm island welcome as you step off the ferry. From there, you’ll set out on a guided coastal walk, practise some simple mindfulness as you move and hear about the island’s history including local place names and insights into island life.
Next, settle into a yoga and meditation session in the tranquil lakeside setting – the perfect chance to restore balance and quiet the mind.
Over a delicious lunch, you’ll have time to relax and connect before finishing the day with a beachside sauna and an optional refreshing dip in the Atlantic – the ultimate reset for body and mind.

How do I get to Inis Oírr?
You can reach Inis Oírr by ferry from Doolin or Rossaveel (Ros a’ Mhíl), just outside Galway. Ferry tickets can be booked in advance, and we’ll provide full travel details when you reserve your spot.
Do I need to have yoga experience?
Not at all! Our Inis Oírr One-Day Island Retreat a on Aran Islands is open to everyone, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners.
What should I bring?
We recommend: Rain gear for all weathers (Irish weather can be a little unpredictable) , loose comfortable clothing , swimsuit, a towel (if you decide on the sauna) and a reusable water bottle. Yoga mats are provided.
What’s included in the Aran Island day retreat?
Your day includes a guided coastal walk, yoga, meditation, mindfulness practices, a delicious lunch, beachside sauna, optional sea swim, and bilingual guidance in English and Gaeilge.
How physically demanding is the retreat?
The retreat is gentle and accessible. Walks are taken at an easy pace with breaks to rest, breathe, and enjoy the scenery. If you have mobility concerns, just let us know in advance and we’ll adjust where possible.
What if the weather is bad?
Island weather changes quickly, but the retreat continues rain or shine! We have a beautiful canvas yoga pod for our yoga and mindfulness sessions. A good waterproof jacket helps you stay comfortable.
How long is the retreat?
The retreat runs from 12-4pm. Arrive on the island anytime time before 12 and we will finish up in plenty of time to catch the evening ferry/flight back to the mainland or better still consider staying the night to really slow down to island pace.
Is the retreat suitable for solo travellers?
Absolutely! Many participants come to our retreats on their own, and it’s a great opportunity to meet new people and enjoy some time for self reflection.
